Having worked in a poultry processing plant, I can not exactly vouch for this. That aside I can say we watched chickens go through what was semi-affectionately called poop soup. The chickens would be beheaded then sent on the line through huge vats of superheated water, where they evacuated as they died, the water was to remove the feathers. It was changed out maybe once a month if anyone remembered to do it. Yummy chicken! Yeeha!
